OUR HISTORY
Originally a 1 man band, we are proud to have grown our team and provide opportunity to passionate product people who share our love for bicycles. Below is a back story of our founder and lead design engineer Alastair Beckett.
2003-2007
CAD-SCOVERY
I discovered mechanical engineering and design in college and the opportunity to learn Solidworks was a lightlbulb moment. I would spend hours redesigning my broken bike components in 3D and got my first experience with manufacturing.
2007-2008
INDUSTRY BOOM-ER
Enthused by the world of bicycles, I secured a position as sales and warranty manager at a major online retail giant and gained my first insight into the world of the cycle trade.
2008-2011
IN AT THE DEEP END
Seizing an opportunity to help a friend, I took a position as race mechanic with Ben Reid and spent the next 4 race seasons travelling around the UCI world cup DH circuit in a multitude of positions from mechanic, road manager, chef, media crew and everything in between. This provided unrivalled access to the R&D side of competitive bike design and allowed me to forge relationships with some of the industries leading brands and companies.
2011-2013
CAN WE CAD IT?
I joined a new department at CRC tasked with taking their product design from a scribble on a crisp packet and turning it onto a functioning 3D CAD model. This role quickly developed into designing a variety of products from components to bike frames for brands such as Nukeproof, Vitus, Ragley and others within the growing 'House Brands' portfolio.
2013-2018
THAT'S MEGA
2018-TODAY
Spotting some significant areas for improvement, I highlighted an opportunity to develop the Nukeproof brand and persuaded the management that I would be a good investment as Brand Manager. This saw me embark on a journey taking on product management, product development, marketing, supply chain management and many other aspect that were required to take the brand from where it was to a multiple world series winning brand with one of the worlds greatest athletes. The Sam Hill Signature pedal being one highlight of my time which continues to win best in test awards today.
